Capturing the essence of nature in its fleeting moments is what inspires Irene: a moment of sunlight on a leaf, the pink sunset, a tree’s shadow on snow. She uses pastels, oils and watercolor to explore the play of light and shadow in landscapes, still life and on people.
A childhood trip to the great museums of Paris and London was the first introduction to the masters. As a teen, Irene took private oil painting lessons and continued at Brooklyn College. Her creativity led to a floral design business, an artist salon and a teaching studio with classes for adults and children.
